About

Welcome to c.w.frosting writes

c.w.frosting began as a small, DIY creative corner in 2010 —a “blogspot” craft blog and visual notebook I started while beginning clinical work during medical school. At the time, it was a way to keep my hands and imagination active while my professional world narrowed towards learning the details of patient care.

As surgical training escalated, the name quietly fell away. There was less space for making, reflecting, or documenting the process. Time expanded to hold space for the work of learning, enduring, and becoming.

This space marks its return.

c.w.frosting writes is where that earlier idea resurfaces, shaped by time, experience, and a fuller life. It’s a place for reflective writing about wellness and the quieter layers that sustain us over time.

I write from the overlapping perspectives of surgeon, mother, and business owner, guided by two core values: knowledge and connection—what we learn, and how we stay meaningfully tethered to one another and to ourselves.

Some posts are practical. Others are personal. Many are seasonal.
All are written with the belief that attention changes how we live.

What You’ll Find Here

This is not a productivity blog or a medical newsletter—though medicine and work inevitably appear.

Instead, this is a space grounded in growth: learning how to sustain a demanding career, how to build a life alongside career responsibility, how to tend to health beyond metrics, and how to mark time through seasons, rituals, and reflection.

The common thread is curiosity—about what works, what endures, and what becomes possible when knowledge is paired with connection.

The writing is meant to be read with intention, returned to, and lived with.
